Meet a BBFC compliance officer without leaving your classroom
We offer virtual sessions delivered by a member of the compliance team. Our seminars cover censorship history, classification today, important and controversial decisions and other key issues, as well as giving learners the opportunity to ask questions. We can tailor sessions for primary, secondary or university groups. Primary school teachers can also look at our children's website for ideas.
Sessions generally include a slideshow presentation equipped with visual aids and clips to help illustrate classification issues at different categories, which are appropriate for the audience. Speakers can also discuss films/trailers made by students as part of their coursework, provided that this is sent to us in advance of a session. Alternatively we can focus on a particular age rating decision or issue (e.g. classifying trailers or the 12A category), or offer a Q&A session after a class views a particular film.
