There are a number of scenes of violence, including fights featuring crunchy blows and some shootings. At one point a man's leg is broken. However, there is little in the way of blood or injury detail. At one point, Batman is set on fire but survives.

A fantasy drug is inflicted on people, causing them to experience their worst fears. This results in a number of horror images, such as faces distorting in a scary fashion and bats flying out of a mouth. This drug is deliberately used by Batman on a villain, causing him to hallucinate. There are also some more conventional scenes of threat, including a woman and child being held at knifepoint.
