There's an Armadillo in my Dreams
There’s an Armadillo in my Dreams is a Welsh independent horror mystery drama short-film written and directed by Aaron Boylan, starring Rowan Snow as a troubled and struggling veterinary student, Alys. Every morning, he finds himself perplexed by nightmares about armadillos. His fear spreads into reality as he experiences a strange domestic phenomenon - the milk is disappearing from his fridge. He embarks on an investigation while carrying a heavy weight of grief on his shoulders to get to the bottom of this strangely ghostly situation. Where will the waves of this journey lead him?
The film additionally stars extraordinary actress Helena Bollen, who steals the screen during her runtime. There’s an Armadillo in my Dreams was independently made by a group of aspiring filmmakers and creatives, including original music, a stylistic approach to cinematography and layers upon layers of subtext. The film is a testament to the creator’s personal progress and will in the craft of filmmaking, learning technical and creative skills along the production’s journey. It offered a great learning experience for each cast and crew member as they overcame obstacles to tell a twisted psychological story.
The film was made in 2023 and screened at the Rhyller Thriller Horror Film Festival 2023. We hope that our short-film has a long life and reaches as many audiences as possible!
