IN YOUR NAME... is a subtitled Portuguese historical drama. Set in Latin America in the early 1970s, it tells the story of a small cell of Brazilian intellectuals and revolutionaries fighting against the ruling military junta. The film was classified '15' for strong language.

The BBFC's Guidelines at '12A'/'12' state 'The use of strong language (for example, 'fuck') must be infrequent'. This film includes over a dozen uses of strong language, meaning it is more appropriately classified at '15' where the Guidelines state 'There may be frequent use of strong language'.

IN YOUR NAME... contains a torture scene involving the use of electric shocks. However, the scene is discreetly filmed and lacks detail. The film also includes a single strong sex reference in which a woman recounts how her captors masturbated onto her face when she was in custody.
