WATCHMEN is an extended version of the 2009 adaptation of the dystopian graphic novel, set in an alternate America where the Vietnam War was won, Nixon was elected for a third term and superheroes are part of the fabric of society.

Violence

There are scenes of strong bloody violence with gory detail. These include bloody stabbings, a man being repeatedly struck in the head with a meat cleaver, the severing of limbs, and neck and bone breaks. Many of the scenes dwell on the infliction of pain or injury.

The film also contains an attempted rape scene, strong sex scenes, sexualised nudity and strong language (f**k).
