SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE is a fantasy film, from 1978, in which an alien orphan grows up to be a super powered hero on Earth.

Violence

Mild violence includes a man firing a handgun at a couple he is mugging and a scene in which Superman is almost drowned.

Threat

Mild threat includes scenes in which people run panicked in the aftermath of destruction, a scene in which a woman is trapped inside a helicopter which teeters off the roof of a skyscraper, and a scene in which a woman is trapped in a car.

Sex

There is innuendo over copulation and a scene in which a man asks what colour a woman's underwear is.

Very mild bad language includes uses of the terms 'hell', 'God' and 'damn'.
