SUFNA is a Punjabi language romantic drama in which a man falls in love with a woman who longs to be reunited with her missing father.

Violence

A man roughly grips his fiancee’s face, shouts at her and threatens to hit her. One of her family members raises a staff to beat her; the beating occurs off screen, but there is aftermath sight of some bruising on her back. Another man is briefly shown whipping at his wife with a stick.

Suicide

There is a brief, undetailed image of a suicide victim, as well as infrequent verbal suicide references.

A man makes insistent romantic advances towards a woman, ignoring her protests, and offers her a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement. One man falsely claims that another has been spying on women and taking photos of them to post to social media. There is also an undetailed verbal reference to rape. Other issues include discreet scenes of child neglect, and infrequent mild sex references and bad language (‘shit’).
