THE STUDENT is a Russian drama about a high school student whose fanatical espousing of his Christian faith causes difficulties for those around him.

Sex

There is a comment made about anal sex by a disruptive student in a sex education class. There is also sexualised nudity when a female student provokes the central character by pulling down her top to reveal her breasts, trapping him against a window where she kisses him.

The film also engages with themes of religious fanaticism, which in this case involves a character who acts through a dogmatic and literal-minded interpretation of Christian teachings.

There is also infrequent strong language ('f**k'), occasional homophobic language ('faggot'), moderate violence and injury detail, and drug references.
