THE SPACE BETWEEN US is a US sci-fi drama in which a teen boy, who was born on a mission to colonise Mars, travels to Earth for the first time.

Threat

There are scenes of rising tension when characters race to find and treat a character who is critically ill. The character is shown becoming progressively sicker, and at one point collapses and appears to have a seizure. Another scene contains images of a character lying face down in water as if dead; however, the character is soon rescued and revived. An action sequence shows a small plane crashing and exploding, but there are no casualties.

Sex

There are visual sex references in a scene in which two characters in their late teens share a sleeping bag while apparently naked. They kiss, and one character is shown moving his hand down the other's chest towards her breast until his hand disappears below frame, but there is no visible nudity on screen.

Injury detail

There are brief images of surgical detail when a doctor makes a small incision in a character's arm. There is a small amount of blood in scenes in which a character experiences nosebleeds.

Language

There is occasional mild bad language, including 'dick', 'ass', 'crap' and 'bloody'.

Other issues include some brief verbal and visual references to alcoholism and child neglect. There also a potentially upsetting scene in which a character dies shortly after childbirth.
