SHOT CALLER is a US drama in which a convict is forced to join a prison gang.

Violence

There are multiple brutal stabbings resulting in bloody aftermath detail. A man bleeds to death after his throat is cut with a razor blade. There are further bloody images in the aftermath of shootings.

A group of men pin another man to his bed and rape him. We hear sexual-sounding groans and creaking bed springs but the sexual violence is not shown on screen. Another scene contains brief and non-graphic verbal references to child sex abuse.

Language

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'). Milder terms include 'pussy', 'bitches', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'ass', 'piss' and 'screwed'.

Nudity

There is brief sexualised female breast nudity when a woman lies naked on a bed to offer a man sex.

Infrequent sequences of drug misuse include people cutting and snorting cocaine and a man smoking a crack pipe. There are also visual and verbal references to drug smuggling. Infrequent moderate sex references include a man referring to a group of women as 'dirt legs'. Further issues include occasional images of racist skinhead tattoos including swastikas; the work as a whole does not condone racist attitudes or behaviour.
