Note: The following text may contain spoilers

SAMSON AND DELILAH is a 1949 adaptation of the Old Testament story.

Violence

In one scene a character single-handedly defeats an entire Philistine army, armed only with the jawbone of an ass. A little blood is seen on the jawbone, on a Philistine soldier's face, and on several dented Philistine helmets.

Threat

The mild threat in the film occurs as a character brings down the Philistine temple. Panic ensues and several Philistines are crushed beneath falling masonry and buried in the rubble.

There is a scene in which a character wrestles and kills a lion with his bare hands. There is, however, no evidence of animal cruelty.
