THE RECEPTIONIST is an Anglo-Taiwanese drama in which a young woman struggling to find work takes a job in a seedy massage parlour.

Violence

In one scene a man degrades and humiliates a woman, culminating in him urinating on her.

Other sequences of violence include fistfights, beatings, a woman being raped, and a scene in which a woman has blood around her groin after it is said that a man 'used his fist'.

Sex

References are made to prostitution, intercourse and coprophilia, and there is brief sight of used condoms. There is also a sequence of implied fellatio.

There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k') and a scene of suicide.
