Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER is a period drama series, from 1975, based on the Mark Twain novel in which a street urchin swaps places with the heir to the Tudor throne.

Violence

There are fights with swords and daggers, but without emphasis on injury detail. It is implied that a man, armed with a stick, kills a priest.

Threat

An unlikeable father is threatening, and briefly violent, towards his family.

Injury detail

A dagger is seen protruding from the chest of a dead body. There is brief sight of blood in the aftermath of violence. Characters are revealed to bear scars from tyrannical punishments.

There is infrequent use of the discriminatory term 'cripple', but this is not endorsed by the series.
