PERSEPOLIS is an Iranian animation about a young girl’s turbulent childhood as she grows up during the Iranian revolution.

Language

There is a single use of strong language ('f**k').

Violence

During some black and white flashback scenes, war images are shown which include the sight of a person, shown in silhouette, who is shot, with small blood visible upon impact. There are also some images of warfare, as well as some undetailed references to torture.

Drugs

A character is seen smoking a marijuana joint with friends.

There are also some mild sex references to prostitution.
