PARANORMAN is an animated comedy drama about a young boy called Norman who has the ability to see and communicate with dead people.

Threat

The main character speaks to ghosts and supernatural beings. Some of the entities are quite benign and harmless in nature, while others seem more threatening. Some dead people rise from their graves and roam the streets as zombies, with several scenes in which they loom menacingly towards human characters.

Violence

A school bully is seen punching various characters, albeit with little or no sight of injury. There are also some sequences in which the frightened townsfolk attack the zombies but these scenes are fantastical and comic in nature.

Sex

A boy is berated by his father for watching an exercise video "on freeze-frame", with a woman's clothed bottom seen frozen on the TV screen.

A youngster is asked to 'swear' he will carry out certain tasks. He misunderstands the request and replies, "You mean the f-word?"
