MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN is a comedy, from 1979, in which an ordinary citizen of first century Judea is mistaken for the Messiah.

Language

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder bad language including uses of 'wanker', 'tart', 'bloody', 'piss off', 'bugger off', 'shit', 'balls', 'bastard', 'arse', 'sods', 'damn' and 'hell'.

Sex

The design of a mosaic suggests that a woman is touching a man under a large leaf covering his crotch. There are comic references to penis size and virginity. There is also comic wordplay on Roman names such as 'Biggus Diccus'.

Violence

Comic violence includes punches being thrown and people being stoned as punishment. A scene shows the aftermath of a gladiatorial event with body parts strewn around the floor of a colosseum; the gory images are both comic and unrealistic. There is a brief moment in which there is a debate about whether a character's conception had come about by his mother being forced into having sex.

In a comic rant a man insists that he is Jewish and refers to himself as "a kike, Yid, Hebe, hooknose, kosher". There is also brief, non-sexual full frontal female and male nudity.
