Note: The following text may contain spoilers

MIRAL is a drama telling the stories of several generations of Palestinian women living through the occupation of their land since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

Language

The terms 'bitch' and 'whore' are used in an aggressive fashion towards women.

Violence

There are sequences of documentary footage from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict depicting violence in military action and street riots that will be familiar from television news broadcasts. There is also one

dramatised street riot scene in which a teenage girl is shot and killed, but little blood or injury detail is shown. As part of an interrogation sequence, it is implied that a character is strangled and a young woman is beaten.

It is also implied that a young teenage girl is being sexually abused by an older family member, although the abuse is not depicted directly.

Injury detail

Soldiers are shown in a hospital, with brief sight of some of their injuries.

There is a sequence implying a character has taken their own life.
