Note: The following text may contain spoilers

MIDNIGHT TRAVELER is a documentary which follows director Hassan Fazili and his family as they are forced to flee Afghanistan and seek asylum in Europe.

Language

There is infrequent use of very strong language (‘c**t’) and also of strong language (‘f**k’). Milder terms include ‘bullshit’ and ‘son of a bitch’.

There is a brief image of real dead bodies, including moderate bloody detail, in the aftermath of off-screen murders by the Taliban. Other scenes contain references to racist and Islamophobic violence against refugees. In one scene we see blood on a man’s face after an off-screen attack, and in another we hear a little girl crying as she describes an incident in which a group of men surrounded her family and attempted to punch her. There is also a brief, non-graphic verbal reference to the rape and murder of a child.
