MARIANNE & LEONARD: WORDS OF LOVE is a documentary exploring the relationship between the musician Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihlen.

Drugs

There are references to children and donkeys having their drinks spiked with LSD. At one point Cohen is seen licking acid from a strip of paper.

Sex

Sex references include the term "verbal masturbation" in a discussion of a book, references to "blue movies" as being unromantic and further references to the sexual liberty granted to people in the 1960s. There is full frontal natural nudity.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k') and use of milder terms ('damn', 'hell').
