MAARI is a Tamil language action drama about a small time gangster with a love for pigeon racing who must challenge the police corruption in his town.

Violence

There are several scenes of moderate violence as one man takes on different gangs of thugs. There are punches, kicks, headbutts and some use of wooden poles to strike at people. Occasionally some men are left with bloodied noses or lips. There are a few flashbacks to a man being stabbed as he sits in a car but the knife impacts are hidden below the edge of the frame. There is blood visible on the knife and the victim's shirt afterwards.

There are English language uses of 'bloody' and 'bugger' as well as subtitled uses of 'pissed'.

There is a single sex reference when a man tells a woman, "No more porn for you", as she works in a clothes shop.

Several characters smoke cigarettes throughout the film.
