LIBERAL ARTS is a US romantic comedy drama in which a 35 year old man is introduced to a 19 year old undergraduate at a dinner at his former college. The pair are attracted to one another but the man is troubled by the age difference between them.

Sex

In one scene some sexual moaning can be heard, but the room is dark and nothing can be seen. In another, a character comments that Byron was probably the happiest of the English romantic poets 'because he put his dick into everything'.

There is a scene in which a student confesses to a friend, over the telephone, that he has taken some pills. The student is subsequently seen recovering in hospital.

There are a couple of scenes of cigarette smoking but the film as a whole neither glamorises nor promotes the practice of smoking.

There is also some mild bad language, including uses of 'dick', 'hell', 'goddamn', 'Jesus', 'screw' and 'shit'.
