THE LAND OF THE ENLIGHTENED is a dramatised documentary about a gang of boys surviving in Afghanistan.

Language

There is frequent use of strong language ('f**k' and 'motherf**ker').

Drugs

A gang of boys are seen stealing, harvesting and selling opium. There is occasional sight of drug misuse when a man appears to smoke from an opium pipe.

There is a crude verbal sex reference when a boy looks at a photograph of a girl and states that he wants to have sex her. There are also moderate sex references in a song lyric which refers to 'titties' and 'pussy'.

There is a scene of animal slaughter in which a goat has its throat cut. There is also a scene in which two cats are encouraged to fight, although they are not seen to come to any harm.
