LADY MACBETH (2016)

LADY MACBETH is a British drama in which a woman, bought to be the bride of an older man, seeks solace in the arms of a servant.

Language

There is a single use of very strong language ('c**t'). There are also occasional uses of strong language ('f**k'). Other bad language includes 'bitch' and 'whore'.

Sex

Several scenes show a couple having sex with the man thrusting on top of the woman, or the pair riding each other seated on a bed. There is buttock and back nudity with occasional brief glimpses of profile breast nudity. It is implied that a man is masturbating off screen as he is heard to moan quietly after ordering his wife to remove her nightgown.

Violence

Scenes of strong violence include a man being struck on the head with a poker, knocking him to the floor. More blows with the poker are struck with the impact kept below the edge of the frame but he is seen lying in a pool of blood with a heavily bloodied face afterwards. Another man is struck across the back with a cane and a young boy is suffocated with a pillow.

Other issues include some threat in a scene where a woman is suspended from the ceiling in a sheet as men shout at her. She is returned to the ground and it is revealed that she was naked inside, with her clothes clutched to her body. There are some verbal sex references to a woman's 'whoring' when she is accused of having an affair.
