THE KING is a US documentary which draws comparisons between the life and career of Elvis Presley and the state of modern America.

Language

There is occasional use of strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker'); milder terms include 'bitch', 'shit', 'piss', 'ass', 'son of a bitch', 'bullshit' and 'nigga', in addition to use of the rude 'middle finger' gesture.

Injury detail

Scenes concerning historical racism feature two still black-and-white images of people who have been murdered in racist attacks. One of the images shows a man who has been lynched and the other depicts a man with blood over his bare chest. There is also brief, grainy Vietnam War footage of wounded and bloodied people being carried on stretchers.

There is sight of cocaine misuse in a short clip from the 1983 film SCARFACE, as well as occasional non-graphic verbal references to drug addiction. Occasional use of racist terms includes 'nigger' and 'negro'; the work as a whole does not condone discriminatory language or behaviour, however. Infrequent moderate sex references include a crude reference to oral sex in rap lyrics.
