THE KEEPER is a historical drama in which a German prisoner of war falls in love with the daughter of his coach after he is recruited to play in goal for the local football team.

Language

There is use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms such as 'bitch' and 'God'.

In a battle sequence, blood spurts onto a man after a fellow soldier is shot in his neck. A German soldier shoots a fleeing child, who is seen lying in a pool of blood. There is archive Holocaust footage of naked corpses being unloaded from a lorry. A prisoner discovers the hanging body of his friend who, it is implied, has taken his own life in remorse over war crimes. There are moderate sex references and brief non-sexual nudity. A woman grieves over the death, in a road accident, of her young son. A severed deer's head is seen in battle.
