KATE PLAYS CHRISTINE is a documentary about actor Kate Lyn Sheil as she prepares to play Christine Chubbuck, a news anchor who took her own life on live TV in 1974.

Suicide

Suicide is discussed at length throughout, including how Chubbuck's mental health issues and the lack of sufficient treatment for depression in the early 1970s contributed to her decision to take her own life. The work does not condone or glorify Chubbuck's actions or suicide in general.
