KAALA is a Tamil language drama in which a politician opposes a scheme to clear a slum.
- Violence
Fight sequences feature heavy kicks, punches and slaps. People are struck with sticks and metal poles, resulting in crunchy blows and minor bloody aftermath detail. One man breaks another's arm. A car is deliberately struck by other vehicles, creating an intense crash sequence that results in a character's death. There is also brief black-and-white footage of a man being whipped, without blood or injury detail.
- Threat
A group of frightened women and children are trapped by spreading fire, but are soon rescued. A woman is surrounded and beaten by police.
- Injury detail
Moderate injury detail includes sight of bleeding wounds during fight scenes, as well as a brief, non-graphic image of a hanging body after an off-screen murder.
Villains throw a piece of pork into a mosque in an attempt to incite violence. The pork is pixilated.
There are occasional bereavement scenes in which people weep for murdered relatives and friends. There is also infrequent mild bad language (e.g. 'shit', 'damn', 'hell').
