THE HOLE IN THE GROUND is a horror film in which a mother becomes concerned by the disturbing changes in her young son's behaviour.

Threat

The overall tone is disturbing, as the mother becomes convinced her son poses a threat to her life. There are several scenes in which the mother is threatened by the child as he throws her across a room and beats her offscreen. There is also a scene in which he tries to bury her alive. However, injury detail is limited. There are also scenes in which the woman is pursued by creatures.

Disturbing images

There are some scenes of horror, including one in which the mother imagines seeing her young son snapping a man's arm at the wrist so that the bone emerges. There is also a scene in which a dead woman is found dead with her head buried in the ground.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder terms (for example, 'arsehole', 'ass', 'damn').

This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
