THE HIPPOPOTAMUS (2016)

THE HIPPOPOTAMUS is a British comedy in which an embittered poet is asked to investigate possible miracles at the country house home of an old friend.

Sex

A young man is seen standing, apparently naked, behind a horse with a tub of Vaseline after he has talked about using his 'seed' to heal things. A clothed woman is seen sitting astride a clothed man and 'riding' him. It is implied a woman is giving oral sex to a man as he lies back with her head in his lap. Another couple are seen lying on top of each other in bed, covered by sheets. A pornographic magazine is shown, with images of naked women briefly visible.

Strong verbal sex references include comments about how females need to be 'elastic' to accommodate the larger male penises. A man boasts how a male lover 'won't touch the sides' because of all the sex he has had. There are also comments about how a man's penis came to be bitten and how a man was almost labelled a paedophile thanks to a misunderstanding.

Language

There is a single use of very strong language ('c**t') and multiple uses of strong language ('f**k'). Milder bad language includes uses of 'wanker', 'prick', 'dick', 'shit', 'bloody', 'bollocks', 'bugger', 'crap', 'arsehole', 'Christ', 'God', 'damn' and 'hell'.

Other issues include references to drug misuse and sight of two people needing to be resuscitated.
