HELL OR HIGH WATER is a US drama about two brothers in west Texas who decide to rob banks in order to raise the cash they need to pay off the debt on their family ranch.

Language

There is strong language, including frequent use of 'f**k' and occasional use of 'motherf**ker'. Milder terms include 'bitch', 'shit', and 'asshole'.

Violence

Scenes of strong violence include gun battles featuring blood sprays and sight of bullet wounds, and a scene in which a character beats another man and slams him against the side of a car.

Sex

There is one brief scene of strong sex in which a woman vigorously rides a man in the background. The image is out of focus and lacking in detail, although the outline of breast and buttock nudity is visible.

Other issues include discriminatory language in scenes in which a character mocks his friend's Native American ancestry. The language is not endorsed by the film as a whole.
