Violence

Strong violence includes an attempted strangulation, a bloody stabbing, and a scene in which a character is set on fire.

Disturbing images

An injured horse is killed by having its throat cut; the carcass is subsequently butchered, with bloody detail. A woman makes cuts on her arms, which results in bloody injury. A woman has episodes of illness which cause her to suffer convulsions and lose consciousness. There are images of the bodies of a family struck down by cholera.
