GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST is romantic comedy about a womaniser who plans to remain a bachelor forever. However, when he attends his brother's wedding, he is visited by three ghosts who show the impact of his behaviour on his past, present and future. This forces him to confront his shortcomings and make amends. It was passed '12' for moderate sex references, language and a drug reference.

The main character's obsession with sex and staying a bachelor gives rise to many moderate references to sexual behaviour. These are mostly comic and include references to 'week-long orgies', 'you must be the wedding sex date for everyone else', references to 'shagging', 'did she have crabs?' and to a character inventing 'the word 'MILF'. There is also a fantastical sequence in which Connor's promiscuity is highlighted in a storm in which every condom he has ever used (many thousands) fall from the sky. These are wholly unsuitable for younger audiences but are acceptable at '12' where BBFC Guidelines state 'Sex references should not go beyond what is suitable for young teenagers. Frequent crude references are unlikely to be acceptable.' Though the references are relatively frequent they are used to establish Connor's weaknesses so he learns the errors of his way and are not crude or pornographic enough in nature to warrant a '15' certificate. The drug references are comic and very infrequent - for example mention of ''a pile of blow the size of a toaster' at a decadent party in the past. This is too strong to be contained at 'PG' where 'any references to illegal drugs or drug misuse must be innocuous or carry a suitable anti-drug message'.

GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST also contains some moderate language including two uses of 'bitch', one of which is directed in an aggressive tone, and a use of 'prick' which all place the work at '12'. Other milder language includes 'shit', 'crap' and 'asshole''.
