GENTLEMEN BRONCOS is a comedy about a young science fiction writer who finds his idea for a story stolen and summarily ruined by a famous yet washed-up author, before trying to get his own version filmed by a local low-budget film maker. The film was classified '12' for infrequent crude humour.

The crude humour in the film includes the sight of a character being sick into a woman's mouth before kissing her; a severed testicle falling to the ground before being eaten by a cat; the implication that a fictitious character is sewing a testicle back onto his body and a snake being sick onto a character's shoulder. Such sequences are shown in either fantastical or comedic scenarios. At ‘PG’, the BBFC's Guidelines state that a film 'should not disturb a child aged around eight or older.' The aforementioned imagery could potentially disturb younger children, and so a '12' is the more appropriate category.

The film also contains mild language with uses of "crap", "shit" and "butthole". Sex references are mild and discreet, including an upset woman commenting that a man asked her to "bed down" with him, and a character accusing an author of turning an heroic fictitious character into a "trannie". There is also sight of a female student becoming apparently turned on when she is given a hand massage by a fellow student as she groans in pleasure, but there is no suggestion of any further sexual activity. Finally, some mild comic violence is present including sight of a character reluctantly firing a blow dart at a cat after being goaded on, only to miss and hit a woman in the breasts instead.
