Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE FAMILY WAY is a comedy drama in which a young couple struggle to consummate their marriage.

Sex

There are moderate sex references throughout. These include an ongoing commentary as to a young woman's virginity and the progress of her sex life with her new husband (or lack thereof). There is some innuendo (for instance, "I was surprised he let her have his organ"). There is a sequence in which it is implied a man and woman have intercourse after a row. There is also brief buttock nudity, but it does not occur in a directly sexual context.

Language

There is infrequent moderate bad language ('bitch) and milder terms such as 'bloody' and 'bastard'.

Violence

There is a scene in which two men fight, with punches and kicks exchanged and one of them sustaining a bloodied mouth and nose.

There is some thinly disguised homophobia in remarks made by a man who notes his son's fondness for literature and classical music and concludes he is 'odd or queer'.
