THE EYES OF ORSON WELLES is a British documentary in which film-maker Mark Cousins explores the life and art of Orson Welles.

Sex

There is a verbal reference to one of Orson Welles' characters paying a man to have sex with a woman and being a 'pimp king'.

Language

There is moderate bad language ('bitch'). There is also a use of 'screwed'.

A brief scene from a film shows a man covering a woman's face with a cloth, a thumb to her throat, as he suffocates her. Some archive TV footage shows Welles speak to camera about an African American teenager being beaten by the police. There is a reference to Orson Welles having received racist hate mail. One letter is quoted as saying "Jews of your class - and negroes, want us to love you, then why not better yourself?". The film does not endorse these discriminatory attitudes. Two clips from Orson Welles films show brief nudity.
