Note: The following text may contain spoilers

DOWNTON ABBEY is a drama, based on the ITV series, about an aristocratic family and their staff who have to pull together to prepare for an unexpected visit from the King and Queen.

Threat and horror

Two men wrestle over a gun, rolling about on the floor until the gunman is disarmed.

Language

There is mild bad language ('bloody'), and infrequent discriminatory language ('queers') which is clearly not condoned by the work as a whole.

Within the film's historical context, a group of men are arrested by police for being homosexual. A policeman refers to the men as "dirty perverts", although the work as a whole has a positive message and homophobic views are clearly not endorsed.
