DE PALMA is a documentary in which film director Brian De Palma talks about his life and career.

Violence

The story of De Palma's career is illustrated by clips from his films which include scenes of violence featuring beatings, shootings, stabbings and throat-slashings. Such violence is accompanied by bloodshed and there are shots of gory injury in its aftermath. There are also bloody horror images in scenes from De Palma's 1976 film, Carrie.

Sex

There are strong verbal references to sexual activity, for example in a scene where a prostitute lists the sex acts which she will not perform. There are also scenes from films which feature sexualised nudity.

Threat

There are scenes from films in which the threat of sexual violence is established by shots of women being manhandled and restrained, but rape itself is not shown.

Language

There is strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker').
