Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE DARKEST MINDS is a sci-fi action film in which young people are perceived to be a threat to the Government after they develop a range of mysterious psychic powers.

Threat

Some of the mutant teenagers are red-eyed and aggressive; they attack the heroes, breathing fire. A terrified doctor is left alone in a cell with one of these 'reds'. A threatening teenager pushes a young woman down onto a bed and tries to kiss her.

Violence

It is implied that a mutant compels a soldier to shoot herself in the head. There are gunfights and crunchy fistfights, with brief bloody detail.

"There is use of mild bad language ('shit', 'crap', 'piss'), as well as milder terms such as 'ass' and 'Jesus'.
