Note: The following text may contain spoilers

CITY ISLAND is a comedy drama about a dysfunctional family in a suburban American fishing village who keep secrets from each other.

Sex

Occasional moderate sex references include a teenage character developing a sexual fascination with larger women and feeding them, and he is seen looking at pornographic websites which feature apparently naked women with superimposed graphics concealing any detail. In other scenes, a character is seen working as a pole dancer, although there is no visible nudity in these sequences.

Language

Occasional use of moderate bad language includes use of 'bitch', 'whore' and 'prick'.

There are infrequent scenes of moderate violence, including a fist fight and what appears to be a shooting with accompanying bloody splatter but is revealed to be faked as part of a film being made.

There are also scenes of smoking, and passing reference to drug dealing in relation to a prisoner's charges.
