CHINESE PUZZLE is a French romantic drama about a writer who separates from his wife.

Language

There are several uses of strong language ('f**k') throughout the film, as well as various uses of moderate and mild bad language, including 'bitch', 'slut', 'shit', 'piss' and 'asshole'.

Sex

In one scene, a man masturbates in a clinic while leafing through a pornographic magazine. He imagines that the women posing in the magazine are engaging in sexual activity with him and with each other. Although nothing explicit is shown, the movement of the man's arm makes it clear what he is doing. After this, one of his friends asks him, in graphic terms, whether he has produced a semen sample. In another scene, a woman places her hand down the front of a man's underpants and they briefly discuss sexual activity in graphic terms. There is also a scene in which two partially naked women engage in sexual activity, following which they flee naked across a rooftop.

The film also contains a scene in which a man attacks another man with a baseball bat, following an argument. The man is subsequently shown lying on the ground with blood around his mouth.
