Note: The following text may contain spoilers

CHANGELING is a thriller based on a true story about a woman in 1920s Los Angeles whose son disappears, but when the police find and return him she realises that the boy is not the son she had lost.

Violence

There are infrequent scenes of strong violence, including a sequence in which a man is hooded and hanged in prison, with protracted sight of his jerking and twitching body before he is pronounced dead. There is also sight of a man hacking at an unseen body positioned out of frame, but with large amounts of blood splashing over his face and body.

Language

Infrequent use of strong language ('f**k') occurs.

There are also scenes of emotional distress, brief scenes of electric shock therapy, and the theme of child abduction and murder runs throughout.
