THE CAPTAIN is a World War II drama in which a German army deserter finds a Nazi captain's uniform and subsequently pretends to be a soldier of that rank.

Violence

There are scenes of strong violence in which men are beaten and shot, with some of the shootings accompanied by blood spurts. In one scene, a man is tortured when his head is repeatedly held underwater. In another scene, a man is blown up by a mortar shell.

Threat

Scenes of strong threat include those in which men are threatened with execution by firing squad, and in one of which they are not immediately killed and linger in pain and distress until being killed.

There is also some sexualised nudity, infrequent strong language ('f**k'), as well as some milder bad language (for example, 'piss', 'shit', 'bastard', 'crap', 'asshole', 'damn', 'God'), and a comedy act in which Jews are mocked, which is not condoned by the film as a whole.
