BREACH is a thriller based on real events, following the lead-up to FBI agent Bob Hanssen's arrest on charges of espionage. The film contains one use of strong language, in keeping with the BBFC's Guidelines for '12A' which state that 'the use of strong language (eg 'fuck') must be infrequent'. The decision to classify the film '12A' was also influenced by moderate references to sex, with one brief sex scene in which we see a video tape of a couple from the shoulders up, sex being indicated by the soundtrack and some vague movement. This is acceptable under the terms of the BBFC's Guidelines at '12A' which allow that 'sexual activity may be implied'.

BREACH also contains some very brief scenes in which moderate violence is depicted without detail, along with some mild threat.
