Paramedics attend the aftermath of an incident of bestiality between a woman and a dog. Although no sexual activity or contact is shown the woman and dog are seen lying next to each other on a bed having apparently become locked together. Paramedics also attend the scenes of other sexual accidents involving the insertion of foreign objects.

There is sight of nudity and thrusting during sex scenes. A man masturbates to produce a semen sample. There is full male and female nudity.

There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t') as well as more frequent strong language ('f**k'). Discriminatory terms are used ('nigger', 'faggot', 'queer'), sometimes aggressively.

There are scenes of problematic childbirths. A medic breaks an infant's shoulders to ease its passage; another suggests the only way to extract it is to cut off its head. An expectant mother bleeds profusely on an operating table. There are also scenes of real childbirth, including Caesarian sections, with internal detail.

There are scenes of abortion. An aborted late-term foetus is shown moving in a tray. A medic attempts to disgust his colleagues by showing them aborted foetuses. Characters discuss aborting babies with Down's syndrome.

There is sexual violence. A man rapes a woman while she's sedated in hospital. A surgeon abuses a young woman while operating on her.

A scene depicts the aftermath of a suicide by hanging.

A character clutches his bleeding groin after inserting a tube into his urethra.

There is misuse of marijuana, and an opioid nasal spray. A character becomes addicted to opiates, which have a negative impact on her life. Characters frame another by planting cocaine.
