BANDERSNATCH is a drama series, set mostly in 1984, in which a young man's mental health deteriorates as he develops a new computer game.

Violence

Strong violence includes bloody stabbings, bloody impact blows on the head, bloody aftermath and kicks and punches.

Language

There is strong language ('f**k') and milder terms such as ‘bloody’ and ’bollocks’.

Drugs

Drug misuse includes cannabis smoking and LSD use, showing scenes of sensory distortion and negative consequences. Some scenes appear to show a historical experiment in which a child is given a biscuit laced with an unspecified drug.

Disturbing images

Several scenes show young men jumping off a high rise balcony while under the influence of LSD, and sight of a decapitated head.

People with mental illness are referred to as ‘cuckoo’.

A child’s behaviour is described as being ‘sissy’.
