BLACK '47 is a thriller, set during the Irish Potato Famine, in which a soldier returns to Ireland and sets about taking vengeance for his people's suffering.

Violence

Scenes include gunfights and use of bladed weapons, resulting in blood spurts and occasional injury detail. In one sequence a man's severed head is discovered on a stake; his head has been replaced with that of a decapitated pig's head. There are also sight of dead bodies, including that of a mother and her child who have frozen to death.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), scenes of moderate threat, and mild sex references.
