BIG EYES is a drama, based on the true story of Margaret Keane, an artist whose husband passed off her celebrated portraits of melancholy children as his own.
- Language
There is a single use of strong language ('f**k'), as well as various uses of mild bad language, such as 'son of a bitch', 'shit', 'piss', 'Jesus', 'Christ', 'hell', 'damn' and 'God'.
- Threat
There is a scene in which a character pokes lighted matches through the keyhole of a door, into a room in which two characters are hiding.
There is a single drug reference when a character asks whether an espresso is like a 'reefer'. There is also a mild sex reference when a character remarks that her friend's husband has "diddled every skirt in the art circuit".
There are two scenes of violence. The first is a scene of mild comic violence when two characters get into a scuffle at a bar and throw punches at one another, all of which are without any impact detail. The second occurs when a character raises a fork to a man's eyeball, although there is no impact.
