THE THREAT is a 1966 Japanese thriller in which two death row convicts escape from prison and hold a wealthy family hostage.

violence
There's a prolonged fight scene between two men in which a man is repeatedly punched in the face, resulting in bloody injury detail. A man imagines his wife and child being shot and stabbed; the sequence is not visually detailed. Two men fight in the street before one is slashed with a blade and the other is strangled. A man accidentally runs into the path of an oncoming train and, it's implied, is killed. A family are under the threat of family throughout the film.
language
There are several uses of strong language 'f**k', as well as frequent use of milder terms including 'bitch', 'son of a bitch', 'ass', 'asshole', 'bastard', 'damn' and 'hell'.
sexual violence and sexual threat
A man attempts to rape a woman, pinning her to the ground and attempting to position himself in between her legs. In a later scene, a man forces himself upon his wife. There's also a passing reference to rape when a criminal asks a man whether he's ever raped a woman.
additional issues
There are several scenes of knife and gun threat; often this threat is directed towards a child and an infant baby.
