violence
Very mild violence occurs, with no one left meaningfully hurt or upset. Characters shoot arrows and engage in sword fights, a pirate ship and town guards exchange cannon fire and a character falsely claims they once sewed up their own skull after a fight and fed people to sharks.
threat and horror
Very mild threat occurs, and is counterbalanced by reassuring resolutions and comedy. Characters are kidnapped by pirates and set adrift at sea, others are threatened with bladed weapons, interrogated in a dim room, and verbally intimidated. A character nearly drowns but is rescued when his boat capsizes in a storm, and characters impersonate ghosts and haunt a villain in his bedroom.
discrimination
A pirate refuses to enlist a female pirate due to her gender and instead offers her a job stitching clothes and cooking for the crew. This behaviour is clearly condemned, with the woman declining his offer. A person wears dreadlocks to disguise himself as a pirate.
rude humour
Very mild rude humour includes a bird bouncing up and and down on a woman's backside for comic effect. There are brief verbal references to a woman being a flirt, and there are scenes where a dog develops a romantic interest in two other canines.
