A young Muslim woman at her father's funeral is resentful at not being allowed to accompany the body to its burial place according to her religion. In the course of assessing prospective husbands for her arranged marriage, a woman and her parents dismiss one candidate because of his preference for a wife with a "light complexion". Two teenage girls at high school are excluded from a Bible class because one is of the Muslim faith and the other follows a non-traditional Christian belief. Discrimination is not endorsed by the work as a whole.
